Police are still investigating the shooting and had not taken anyone into custody by Saturday afternoon.
TRENTON - A teenager was being treated in the hospital Friday after she was shot while riding in a car, police said.
(Michael Mancuso | The Times of Trenton) Officers were called to the 800 block of East State Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday for a report of shots fired but didn't find anyone in the area. A short time later they were told that a 17-year-old girl had come to the hospital after being shot in the buttocks, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The girl told police she had been a passenger in a car driving on East State Street Friday night. The girl said she heard the sound of gunfire just before she was shot, according to police.
Police are still investigating the shooting and had not taken anyone into custody by Saturday afternoon.
