East Windsor is urging residents to drop off food for needy families through the end of the month

EAST WINDSOR -- East Windsor is urging residents to drop off food for needy families through the end of the month as part of a "New Year's Food Drive."

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the East Windsor municipal building from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Police/Court building or the East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2.

All of the food will be given to the food pantry at RISE and the Green House at St. Anthony's Church.

Mayor Janice Mironov said donations typically drop off after the holidays.

"As the holiday season and its special focus on good deeds passes, we want to remind everyone that the need for assistance to people in our area continues and call upon our community's proven spirit of generosity," she said. "As we begin a New Year, let us remember our neighbors who need our help and support, especially during the winter months."
