Princeton U. named best private university in new ranking
For Princeton University, Vasen's death is a devastating blow.
Vasen's colleagues at the Lewis Center for the Performing Arts released an obituary Wednesday, remembering the man whom Lewis Center Chair, Michael Cadden called, "one of the finest human beings we have known."
In the obituary Cadden went on to discuss Vasen's accomplishments, including teaching at Princeton University for over 20 years, directing shows across the country and his creation of a course at Princeton University called, "Re: Staging the Greeks."
"All of us have lost one of the world's finest teachers of theater," Cadden said in the release.
Vasen was married and had two children, according to the obituary. The university is hosting a memorial service for Vasen at 2 p.m. Sunday in the James M. Stewart Theater at 185 Nassau Street.
