Times Holiday Appeal: Community raises more than $38K for Christine's Hope for Kids

The season of giving continues as generous donations to this year's Times Holiday Appeal for Christine's Hope for Kids have helped bring the total raised so far to $38,009.

The season of giving continues as generous donations to this year's Times Holiday Appeal for Christine's Hope for Kids have helped bring the total raised so far to $38,009.

An anonymous donor from Newtown, Pa., sent a gift of $5,000 with a note, "Your choice of Christine's Hope is a wise one."

Sending gifts of $500 each were Richard and Anita Hall of Montgomery, TX; the Pennington Business and Professional Association; and an anonymous donor from Robbinsville.

Flutter Boutique of Pennington sent $300 from the CHFK Holiday Open House.

A gift of $300 was also received with a note "From Tom, Cindy and Katie Pearce and "the wonderful customers of Purple Cow Ice Cream" of Lawrence.

Gram and Pop Hall of Hopewell sent $200.

Sending $150 each were Trenton Meeting of Friends; Co-workers at the New Jersey Civil Service Commission in Trenton; and Hamilton Jewelers of Princeton with a note from company president Hank B. Siegel, "On behalf of the Siegel family and Hamilton Jewelers, please accept the enclosed donation in support of Christine's Hope for Kids."

Gifts of $100 each were received from Kimberley Waters of Zoe Graphics of Pennington; Melissa Friel-Gilbert of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; Faelton and Pauline Perkins of Ewing; Arlene Norbe of Hamilton Square with a note, "On behalf of my beloved sons, Corey and Todd"; the Gearhart family of Robbinsville; James and Eileen Mansfield of Trenton; Elaine and Robert Kusek of Lawrence; Walter and Mary Bliss of Princeton; Jackie Cleak of Lawrence; and Lucille Eleuteri of Trenton with a note. "In memory of the Eleuteris: Sam, Mary, Sandy, Peter and Joe."

Sending $50 each were Daniela and Robert Repack of Columbus; Jeffrey Bartolino of Doylestown, Pa.; and Eileen P. Thornton of Hamilton with a note, "I am pleased to continue my holiday tradition of contributing to the Times Holiday Appeal in memory of my wonderful parents, Helen and Bill Thornton. I admire and appreciate the genuine work of Jean and John Gianacaci for Christine's Hope for Kids in memory of their dear daughter. It is a wonderful way to honor her and to perpetuate the Christmas spirit year round."

Ann Nugent of Newtown, Pa. sent a gift of $30.

Gifts of $25 each were received from Thomas and Nancy Beckett of Hamilton; Barbara Sprague of New Egypt; Arleen Kerr of Titusville; Carol Hiner of Columbus; Bob and Carol Farina of Robbinsville; Carol Miller of Yardville; Larry and Marie Di Carlo of Hamilton with a note, "Bless all the little children"; and Barbara Cristofaro of Trenton with a note, "In honor of my husband, Gerard A. Cristofaro, Jr., the biggest kid I know."

Ginny and John Hallock of Robbinsville also sent $25 with a note, "In honor of Mary and Frenchie, who we remember fondly."

Janet M. Everett of Hamilton sent $25 with a note, "God bless John and Jean Gianacaci for turning a tragedy into a beautiful memorial for their daughter, Christine. I remember Christine as a little girl when her mother brought her into the office to visit her dad."

Mary Anne Kennedy of Lawrence sent a gift of $20 and Whitney Rock of Trenton sent $10.

Anonymous donations include $100 from Hamilton Square; $100 from Pennington with a note, "In memory of Henry and Jean Krzewinski from their family"; $50 from Robbinsville; $50 from Belle Mead; $50 from Princeton Junction; and $25 from Trenton.

The total also includes another $2,000 from NJM Insurance Group, which has pledged to donate $1,000 for every $5,000 contributed by the community and other business donors throughout the 2015 campaign.

Heartfelt thanks to these benefactors.
